Adding Funds on Allowance Cards

Most cards on BlueBean are “pre-loaded” with funds for multi-use or time bound purchases or set with a limit for recurring usage. To learn more about BlueBean card types click here.

The exception to the rule above is for allowance cards that are specifically used for mobile usage. It is a sort of equivalent to a “one time” card request that disappears after usage.

Allowance cards are issued with a zero balance and have been designed to configure limits for discretionary purchases. After usage the card resets to a zero balance whether the allowance has been fully or partially used. See here for allowance configurations.

Prior using an allowance card, employees that have been issued one have to load funds on their card.

To do so, open your mobile app, select your allowance card if you have many cards, and hit the BlueBean button. If category specific allowances have been set you will first be prompted to pick a category and the set allowance will then appear.

By clicking on the request top up button your card will be automatically funded for the purchase of the selected category assuming all controls conditions are fulfilled. If not you will be prompted to justify your request and your request will follow the approval process as described here.

Once automatically or manually approved click on “Go to wallet” on your notification to open your mobile wallet and complete the purchase.

Once the purchase is authorized your balance will reset to zero.

Make sure to check your balance to verify how much funds you have on your cards.
